Rules, controls and help for Ludo

Read the aim of Ludo, then make your first move. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Check the rule that explains your first action. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

Give this approach a try

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What counts as success

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.

Start here and follow along

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

Your inputs

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

A closer look at one example

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Take a moment to compare.

Keep this in mind

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
